{August 3, 2010}   A Collection

I found this collection of pictures a while back, and I’ve been meaning to post it for some time now. I thought I might provide a little snippet for each one, just a thought about it, but there are far too many and it really would detract from it. So here you are then. I really hope you enjoy these photos as much as I did. Which is to say a lot.

{May 16, 2010}   Exams, and burning

Hello again to all my friends (and those of you I have not yet befriended),

I really should not be updating√©posting at this moment in time, I’m right in the middle of exams you see. 7 down, anf 3 more to go. But I did want to let you know that I have been recently introduced to the world of I have not really done much with it as of yet. Here is my profile anyhow.

So I had to download this scrobbler thing so that whatever I’d listen to would get updated online, the thing was that it wouldn’t work, or rather I couldn’t get it to work with my media player of choice, that’s MediaMonkey if you wanted to know. But it does work with Winamp, which I had downloaded previously for some reason that escapes me now. However for me to have any sort of structure with winamp I would have to reorganize my music collection with folders. (MediaMonkey grabs all audio files off your harddrive for it’s library which is why I never bothered before).

On the down side I have to reorganize my music. On the up side, my music will actually be organized. And I got to check out lots of pretty skins for winamp, I didn’t find one that I really loved though…I’m using Ebony at the moment. If you have a skin that you’ll think I like leave a comment, and I’ll check it out.

Anyways, I’m excited to try this thing, as well as finally finishing my exams! I really can’t wait. I am going to burn all my notes! I will try to take pictures, before, after and during of the process, and post them too, but I don’t know if I can. I will most definitly try.

Wish me luck on my exams!

Till next time.

Hello my readers. I was on omegle, and I had the inspiration for a story. Here is how it played out. Note that I just wrote what came into my head, no looking back at all. I hope you enjoy this drabble. It may turn into a full blown thing later on maybe.

{April 20, 2010}   A formspring story

I received a question on my formspring, asking me about how I met a friend of mine. I wrote a rather long reply, and people liked the story so I figured some of my readers might like it too. Here it is in its entirety.

Well, you won’t believe [how I met her], but I’ll tell you anyways. It was a dark night. Clear skies, and the moon hung low in the sky, and the stars twinkled like gems. I was taking a walk because I couldn’t get to sleep that night, I wasn’t sure why that was at the moment, but thinking back now I think it was fate that wouldn’t let me rest that night.

My feet led me around my neighbourhood, and then down to a small park. To my surprise there was already someone there. Sitting on top of the monkey bars with her knees up to her chest, arms crossed on top of them and her chin resting on top of those. For a moment I didn’t know quite what to do, but then I said to myself, ‘Pretend like she isn’t there bro, if you try to talk to her, she’ll think you’re a rapist or something.’ So I just meandered over to the swings and plopped down unceronmoniusly. The creak of the chains alerted her to my presence, and her head whipped around causing her hair to whip in the wind, and her dark brown eyes stared out from underneath her bangs. I gave a little wave and started swinging. Just slowly of course, and soon the rythmic creacking of those chains became the backdrop for that night. I don’t know how long I kept swaying in the wind, my eyes unfocused at a spot on the ground.

All of a sudden, an unexpected push sent me higher into the air and I was jolted from the haze that had settled down around me. Twisting in my seat at the apex of my swing, I saw her twinkling eyes behind me.

I laughed when she did it again, how long was it since I had played on the swings? Too long.

Soon, or later, we switched spots, and she squealed in delight as my first push sent her further than she expected. It was not until the first rays of dawn started to creep over the horizon that we realized how long we were out there. A sad smile graced both of our faces as we parted that morning. Not a word was spoken, and not a name was known.

{April 9, 2010}   Music

Hey guys,

I’ve discovered a new genre of music, dubstep! Thank god for stumbleupon. Its a really interesting style of music, and I like it a lot, but I sent a few samples to my friends (this and this) and they didn’t appreciate it as much as I did. Anyways, it’s something that anyone with who likes a good bass line will appreciate. So all you techno/trance/house fans, this is something worth listening to. This Omega guy is really amazing. Mega sick beats.

Speaking of music, I got a little over 30gb from a friend of mine. Its full of great electronica. There’s so many genres of electronica that I haven’t begun to explore – I can’t wait till I have time to listen to the 280.5 hrs of music my friend gave me. Super excited.

So by now you’ve realized that I like electronica. I like trance, techno, hardcore, all of that stuff because of the bass line. Bass is win. If you have the link to a track you think I might enjoy, leave it in the comments below

Unfortunately I don’t have a pair of headphones that can help fully appreciate the bass. Any recomendations leave them in the comments.

{April 8, 2010}   Glasses

Hello readers, have I got news for you. It seems that I am going to be getting glasses. My left eye is near sighted, and my right eye is farsighted as well as having a bit of astigmatism. I am not too worried about getting glasses. If nothing else it will be another accessory. I’m not quite sure what kind to get, but I’m pretty sure it won’t be frameless.

It appears that my nervous system is out of wack. I have been ingesting so much caffiene, and chocolate, as well as suffering from extra stress and low sleep levels. This means that my muscles keep twitching in random places. Around my eyes is where it’s especially noticable. But there have been twitches throughout my body.

For some time I thought that these twitches were my body’s way of excersizing my muscles, much like that episode in Futurama where Fry got worms. But it is not. Sigh.

Oh well, glasses here I come!

{April 6, 2010}   Original Fiction

Some of my readers might be wondering if I have any plans to write any original fiction. Well, readers, I do. But I’m not quite sure when I would attempt to write anything. I assume that it would be this summer, when I would have in theory 3 full months to work on it.

I know that it will not be recieved well by everybody, but as long as there are enough people to read it, then I will be happy. It will most definitly be a romance novel. If I do get it published. I will try my best to create some sort of discount for my readers.

If anybody would like to read some of my non-original fiction, you may find some stories here. (For those of you that read the last post, it is the same link). I ask that you leave a reveiw so that I can better my writing so that there will be more chances that I will get my novel published.

Baby steps, readers, baby steps.

{April 6, 2010}   Erza/Natsu Part 2

My readers. To those that have read my Erza/Natsu experiment, I have written the second part. To those that have not yet read it, I would like it if you could, here is the link so that you will not have to scroll back through prior entries, please leave a comment as well, it is always nice to hear your thoughts.

To my readers who want to read the second part. Here is the link for that. I should warn you though. That is rated Mature for Sexual content. If you feel you are ready for it, then be my guest. I would have posted this second part itself, but I did not want people to read something they were not ready for. There is a button at the bottom of that page for a review, It would be much appreciated if you could take a few moments to leave your reactions.

I should tell you right now that I do have a permanent account on that website, the beautiful where I post whatever plot ideas that come into my head. If you would like to read more that I have written, please click here. I am sorry that I am worse at updating there than I am here. However I did manage to upload 2 chapters for my story Princess. If any of you would like to read it, please leave a review. I should warn you, again, that it does contain Mature content in Chapter 4. If you would like to skip it, feel free to do so, but know that I have not yet uploaded chapter 5.

I have takn this post on a tangent. But I would really like it if you would read some of the fiction that I have written.

Hello people. I regret that i haven’t posted anything for a long time. Nothing I can say will bring back those lost days where I did not post. To tell you the truth I wanted to finish reading something and post my impressions. I started a number of novels.

Brave New World by Aldous Huxely is a fantastic creation. I received it, along with Island by the same author for christmas along with a number of other goodies., but I was without internet during those days, and I had quite honestly forgotten about it until I wrote these words. Not to say that it was forgettable, merely that I forgot.

The Fox Woman by Kij Johnson is a fantastic read, and I have read it before, but several years ago. I wanted to read it again before I posted my thoughts on it, for leaving you readers with, it was great, and not providing nay details as to why it was great would be a horrible thing to do.

The second novel that I picked up was Jane Austen’s Northanger Abbey. To tell you the truth I was required to read this text for school. I read about the first 5 chapters before putting it aside. I can tell you this much, you need a sense of humour, unique would be best, in order to fully appreciate this text. My state of mind was not right for reading it at that moment.

I then picked up another classic. The Scarlet Letter By Mr Nathanial Hawthorn. Also required for school, I have read the first 5 or 6 chapters, and it lies gathering dust on my bookshelf. Of what I read so far, and read the summary online, it sounds like a great novel, but I will have to finish it in its entirety to give any real thoughts on it.

I’ve read 1984 for the second time, but I did not have a chance to sit down and say what I wanted to about this imaginary world. There’s so much I wanted to say, so much that the thought overwhelmed me. This novel has a lot of ramifications right now in our world, and as such I could not discuss it without delving into the political arena, and I really did not want to go there at all, it’s a very tenuous time right now, and I don’t want any of my, possibly, inflammatory words to ignite something we, as a people, have no chance of dousing.

I’ve watched a number of movies since the last time I’ve posted.Avatar in particular I loved to death. But with such movies, I always have a real problem with getting how I felt down on paper. This is made all the more difficult due to the masterpiece that is Avatar. It made it very hard for me to write anything. I will say, in passing, that it is a very soulful movie, and it brought me to tears several times.

I have also watched Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland. It was interesting to say the least. I believe this is the first time I’ve watched any of Burton’s films, I went to see Johnny Depp. One of my favourite actors of all time. He put on a remarkable performance as he is wont to do. The film itself was nice enough, and it did not follow the story of Alice in Wonderland, or In The Lookingglass, but it was a combination of both, being quite interesting.. There was humour, but it was an odd sort. I wouldn’t say it was one of my favourite films, but it wasn’t bad. To be honest, if it didn’t have Mr Depp, I would not have gone to see it.

There have been a few family issues as well. My grandfather contracted cancer, my grandmothers both of them have been severely ill for the past month or so. One more than the other. My father might be moving abroad, etc. But I won’t bore you with those details.

I’m sure you, dear readers,¬† must be wondering what’s next?

Well dear readers, I am sorry to say this but I’m taking a brief hiatus until the end of May. Exams are in May, the entire month, and while I would love to pour out my every insecurity and thoughts on how I will do, I will not subject you to that horror. That horror that I live in. Rest assured that I will not neglect this as much as I have been. I will resume my writing at the end of May. There’ll be a slight gap, as I will be visiting my relatives during the first half of June, but I will be back and in strong force for the rest of the summer, and hopefully into autumn as well. Who knows, I might be able to write about everything that I’ve said I want to write about here.

{October 21, 2009}   The White Tiger

I received The White Tiger by Aravind Adiga as a present a few days ago, and I saw it on the ‘Most Requested Titles’ stand in Indigo yesterday, and let me just say, there is no wonder why it was so requested. I finished reading this great book yesterday

A Great Book

The White Tiger - Aravind Adiga

This is one seriously funny dark comedy. If you found parts of Young Hannibal to be funny, well you’ll love this immensely. The story itself is told by the narrator, who has been given many names, notable The White tiger, in 7 letters to a Chinese diplomat concerning entrepreneurship.

The letters are long, and detail the narrator’s life from childhood up until present day. Written in a colloquial style, Adiga keeps the reader’s attention clenched tightly in his hand as the extent of the corruption is revealed in this novel bit by agonizing bit. This novel explores the corrupt and seedy side of India that the narrator wan’ts the visiting Chinese delegate to know about, because it is from this that entrepreneurs arise.

The entire novel is quite satirical as the narrator is explaining his life story, to explain how entrepreneurs are created. But in the end he says that anyone can create a start-up with a few hundred thousand dollars of stolen money, and how they can hide in plain sight.

Overall, I would say this quite an interesting book, and a great look into the corruption present in India without becoming too depressing. I rate it at a 9/10.
